Asbestos Removal & Disposal

Under Health & Safety Regulations, an inspection must be carried out on existing structures in order to identify any asbestos or contaminated materials and if found they must be removed before any new work commences. All Asbestos or contaminated materials have to be disposed of to a specific licensed location. Walmac carry out inspections, reports, removal, disposal and certification of such materials. Walmac provide Asbestos and other hazardous waste management services. Our expertise covers the management and removal of asbestos and other hazardous materials, such as lead, radiological, chemical and biological contamination and operates within a wide range of sectors, including Government, transport, heritage, leisure, retail and energy. The contract involved the demolition of 6 blocks of apartments over 3 different phases a significant project in the planned regeneration of the area. Each apartment block consisted of 22 flats in a 4-story complex.

The existing building, consisting of a office blocks, one 5 storeys’ high . The total area was around 10000 sq meters. The building was the former Boland’s Mill building original was built in 1835 and was redeveloped in the 1980’s by the Ronan Group into an office block.
